Breast Cancer Research Stamp

The Postal Service is continuing its support of the fight against breast cancer.

The United States Postal Service has issued the first stamp to have its net proceeds earmarked for research organizations. The Breast Cancer Research stamp was issued in Washington D.C. on July 29. Eight cents from every 40-cent stamp will be donated to help fund cancer research.

Locally, the Breast Cancer Research stamp was unveiled and dedicated in a Second Day of Issue Ceremony on Thursday, July 30 at 10:00am on the front lawn of the Providence Main Post Office. Click on stamp for full view.

Breast Cancer Awareness Stamp Two years ago, the YWCA ENCOREplus Program joined forces with the Providence Post Office and breast cancer survivors to dedicate the Breast Cancer Awareness stamp in a moving ceremony at the Post Office.
